This year marks the first time presenting Community Contribution Awards and we are delighted to have received nominations from both residents and Parish Councillors.
The nominations reflect the many ways individuals, groups, and businesses have made a positive impact within the Streethay community. It has been inspiring to see the dedication and community spirit shown across all entries.
The awards recognise contributions across the following categories:
- Young Person of the Year
- Neighbour of the Year
- Green Champion
- Local Business Contribution of the Year
We are proud to celebrate those who help make Streethay such a positive and supportive place to live.
Young Person of the Year
James Krepski
James, aged 16, is being recognised for his outstanding voluntary contribution to the Streethay estate. Taking initiative and demonstrating strong community spirit, he is undertaking a clean-up project to remove broken plastic tree protectors that have deteriorated over time.
With permission from FirstPort, James is carefully working through the estate during March and April to improve the local environment and reduce plastic waste, showing responsibility well beyond his years.
Green Champion Award
Bob Harrison – Lichfield Litter Legends
Bob and Lichfield Litter Legends are a deserving recipient of the Green Champion Award in recognition of dedication to keeping the local area clean and welcoming.
They regularly support and facilitates community clean-up events, bringing volunteers together and providing equipment to enable their efforts. Through his ongoing litter picking around Streethay, they have made a consistent and positive contribution to the environment and the wider community.
Business Contribution Award
Sarah Chatterton – Co-op Streethay
Sarah, Co-op Streethay, is recognised for her valued contribution to the local community, including organising the donation of prizes for the community competitions and providing refreshments to support local events.
Ongoing support helps bring residents together and makes a positive and lasting contribution to community activities.
Neighbour of the Year
Vikki Seal
Vikki is recognised for her kindness, care and leadership in helping to build a supportive community in Streethay. Since moving to the area in 2020, she has played a key role in bringing neighbours together.
Through quiet, consistent acts of support – checking in on others, offering help and encouraging connection – Vikki has helped turn a new development into a genuine, caring community. Her selfless commitment and positive influence have created a neighbourhood where people feel included, supported, and valued.
