Streethay Parish Council is delighted to launch September Sort Out, a brand-new community event designed to bring residents together for a day of decluttering, bargain hunting and supporting local charities.
The event encourages households across Streethay to hold their own table top sales from home or join fellow residents at one of two community pop-up selling locations. It’s a fantastic opportunity to give unwanted items a new home, reduce waste, meet neighbours and raise money for a worthwhile local cause.
Host Your Own Sale
Residents can register to host a table top sale from their own home or book a space at one of our pop-up selling locations:
- Co-op Commercial Centre
- The Green, Bexmore Drive
Everyone who registers will:
- Be included on the official September Sort Out Community Sale Map, helping visitors find sales across Streethay.
- Receive a unique Seller Number.
- Be invited to make a voluntary £5 donation, with all proceeds going to St Giles Hospice.
Community Donation Point
A community donation point will also be available at the Co-op Commercial Centre, where residents can support local charities and organisations by donating unwanted items.
Taking part on the day will be:
- Spark Baby Bank – Selling baby and children’s clothing and equipment.
- Lichfield Foodbank – Collecting donations of tinned food, toiletries and pet food.
- St Giles Hospice – Collecting bric-a-brac, books and clothing.
- Lichfield Repair Café – Offering repair advice, recycling guidance and practical tips to help give broken or unwanted items a new lease of life.
A Day for the Whole Community
September Sort Out is about more than just clearing out cupboards. It is an opportunity for the community to come together, support local charities, encourage reuse and recycling, and enjoy a day of discovering bargains close to home.
Whether you’re hosting a sale, searching for hidden treasures, donating to charity or learning how to repair and reuse everyday items, there’s something for everyone.
