Streethay Parish Council’s Halloween competitions have now come to a close following a half-term break filled with pumpkin hunting and brilliantly decorated homes. Although the weather wasn’t always kind, families enjoyed getting involved and helping to create a wonderful community atmosphere.
Pumpkin hunting in Streethay Park
The free Streethay Park Pumpkin Hunt invited families to explore the park and count all the pumpkins they could find. Participants submitted their answers through the council’s website for the chance to enter a random draw to win one of four £20 gift vouchers.
Feedback from those who took part was full of enthusiasm, with families sharing how much they enjoy the trails and the opportunity to get out and about together. Comments included:
“Loved the trail, thank you!”
“Excellent trail – my children love taking part in all of the events. Many thanks for putting it on!”
“Thank you so much for putting on events in the park. My children love the trails that you’ve done and the community event in the park last summer was brilliant. They really help build a community spirit and as parents of primary aged children it is all really appreciated”
Spooktacular homes across Streethay
The Best-Dressed House Competition also brought plenty of Halloween creativity to Streethay, with fabulously decorated homes helping to create a welcoming community atmosphere for trick-or-treating. The council would like to thank everyone who entered and recognise the time, imagination and effort that went into their displays.
The winning house has been selected and will receive a £50 gift voucher.
All winners across both competitions have been contacted and invited to collect their prizes. Those children and famillies who didn’t win this time have been sent a themed certificate.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part!
